Taino Valley Tropical Park is a privately owned and operated ecological attraction garden that has been open to the public since 2009 and offers an unforgettable experience of beauty.

The construction of the hiking trails, ponds and birdhouses began many years ago as a private park. Many new and interesting exhibits have been added to improve the quality of the visit for those who have the opportunity to see this wonderful place.

Parque Tropical Taino Valley is a tropical park where you can enjoy and learn about the nature and culture of the Dominican Republic, conveniently located on the “Ruta Turística”, a road with impressive views of the tropical countryside between the city of Puerto Plata and Santiago, Only half an hour by car from Puerto Plata or Sosúa and
about 45 minutes from Santiago.

In our 250,000 m2 / 63 acre plantation you will find 4 different paths with a total length of 2.5 km (1.5 miles) where he shows you everything and explains what the park is about, explore Taino Valley Tropical Plantation for your count or join our guided tour that starts every full hour from 10am. until 3 in the afternoon.

The Tropical Park comprises more than 250,000 m2 / 63 acres / 25 hectares of forest with a wide range of different (fruit) trees, flowers, birds, petting zoo, fish variation and a natural lake.

The 1.6 miles (2.5 kilometers) of trails and overlooks were designed and built without cutting down many trees. The construction of the trails and platforms has been done without the use of heavy equipment in the forest. The trees were left intact, to provide shade and shelter for visitors and the inhabitants of the gardens.

You will be able to smell the flowers, taste the fresh fruit, feed the birds, fish and other animals, enjoy the magnificent views, learn about our nature and culture in a walk of approximately 90 minutes, which includes a stop at Free coffee and samples of fresh fruit.

The trails are subject to seasonality, but can include pineapple, coconut, mango, banana, coffee, heliconia, palms, papaya, carambola, jackfruit, tobacco, sugar cane, sweet potato, orange, different herbs, lettuce, avocado, citrus and plus.

After your hike, you can spend unlimited time in the Taino Valley Tropical Park and relax at the “Mirador” lookout surrounded by farmland, against the stunning Taino Valley, or take a stroll around the lake.

And if you’re thirsty or hungry after the hike, the welcome center and “Mirador” viewpoint serve freshly prepared food and drinks that you’ll love. (meals and drinks at a very low cost), this place will ensure an unforgettable experience.
